Danmar Natural Timber Garage Doors
The Danmar Natural Timber Collection is the ultimate choice for homeowners wishing to install a genuine wooden garage door. These designer doors are crafted from authentic Western Red Cedar and finished with either a superior sealer or oil. Utilising the versatility of natural timber in this way fosters unlimited design potential that complements both traditional or modern homes. Furthermore, these wooden doors tend to be less expensive than other designer options!
Maintaining the Beauty of Timber
Keep in mind that as a natural material, timber features considerable colour variations. Maintaining the beauty of your timber door requires appropriate application of stain and regular oiling. If colour matching is essential for your garage door, the door can be supplied raw and untreated. In this instance, we strongly recommend engaging a third party painter to apply the finish on site.
Each Danmar wooden garage door is available in one of three oiled finishes; clear, sella brown and black ash, which enhance the unique colouring of the natural timber. All timber doors, except the Ply Panel plus the Ply & Batten Panel designs, are also available fully sealed; producing clear, hemlock, walnut, rosewood and ebony toned finishes.
Lining Board Designs
The Danmar timber collection consists of 12 different designs, so you are sure to find the panel which reflects the style of your property! Five of these designs incorporate western red cedar cladding, fixed to an aluminium frame. Choose between the Cedar Panel 86 and the Cedar Panel 135 with horizontal lining boards of corresponding widths; in either a Vee Joint or Shiplap profile. Embrace a less conventional panel orientation with the Verti Panel and add a wooden border or use a shiplap profile. Try the Herringbone Panel for a modern twist, utilising diagonal lining boards. In contrast, the vertical boards in the Barn Panel paired with horizontal whalers and optional round black bolts recreates a time-honoured style.
Timber Panel Designs
The Raised Panel design is impressive to behold, being a solid door with fielded panels encased by thick 38mm stiles and rails. The Recessed Panel design is the opposite, with inverted flat cedar inserts. The Classic Panel design features the same stiles but the insert consists of vertical, horizontal or diagonal vee joint panels.
Wooden Louvre Designs
Louvre lovers can choose from two different Danmar garage door designs; the Louvre Panel and Carriage Panel. Louvres are horizontal slatted panels which effectively form a shutter, enabling ventilation. The slats are angled to prevent dust from entering and obscure direct sunlight; without compromising your privacy. The Louvre Panel design consists entirely of individually manufactured louvre panels, made open or closed, which are framed within thick rails and stiles. Alternatively, the Carriage Panel design features a single row of louvres, either open or closed, across the top panel. The remainder of the door is clad in vertical vee joint lining boards.
Ply Sheet Designs
The two ply sheet garage door designs are only available with an oiled finish. The AA Grade marine ply sheets within the Ply Panel are fixed to an aluminium frame, with black rebates on all joins or optional butt joins. The Ply & Batten Panel design is of a similar construction, with the addition of Western Red Cedar battens securing all horizontal and vertical sheet joins.
Danmar Garage Door Warranty
Danmar timber garage doors finished by the manufacturer are eligible for a 6 month warranty when oiled, or a 12 months when fully sealed. All warranty claims are subject to a satisfactory service history, undertaken every 6-12 months. All Danmar doors are eligible for a structural warranty period of 3 years. Any natural features within the wood, or minor aesthetic imperfection which cannot be seen at a distance of 3m from the door, is not deemed a defect. When Danmar has arranged installation, workmanship will be covered by a warranty period of 12 months. However, if the door is installed in a corrosive environment, near the beach for instance, this warranty only applies if the hardware has been powder coated prior to installation.
